To make meals while travelling, backpacking and camping you need some cooking gear. And believe me, there is a lot of cooking gear out there! So how do you choose the right cooking gear? Well, there is no right or wrong cooking equipment. You just need to find the cooking gear that suits your travels.

Check out the cooking equipment and utensils I use to make great meals while I travel, backpack or camp (and sometimes at home).

I get my cooking gear (and travel gear) from a variety of places. These include variety stores, specialist outdoor stores like Anaconda and Outback Equipment and online at Amazon. Camping Stoves

I have all three of these. The first one is great for day hikes while the single burner stove is great for overnight and weekend escapes. If family come camping with me I take my 2 burner camping stove or use my fire pit. I make many one-pot wonders on both.

Camp Oven / Dutch Oven + Fire Pit

I like to cook in my camp oven over hot coals sometimes. Cooking this way provides a unique flavour. A new addition to my camp oven set up is a portable fire pit so I can cook and be warm at the same time. And being able to pack up my fire pit, I don’t leave any footprint behind. One of my favourite things to cook in my camp oven is beer damper.

Collapsable Cooking Equipment

I love my collapsable cooking equipment. It is lightweight and saves on space. The collapsable chopping board and sink has been a game changer for some of my camping trips. Read my review on collapsable cooking equipment and find out why I love it so. They will become your new best friends like they are mine!

Other Travel Cooking Gear

These are some of my favourite things I travel with, possibly a little indulgent, but I find them extremely useful travel cooking gear. I mean, who can’t live without eating sushi, eggs (particularly a good English Breakfast fry up), tacos or other spicy food. What about enjoying a coffee when you want!
