Fried Rice is believed to have been first invented sometime during the Sui dynasty (AD 589-618) in the city of Yangzhou. Whoever invented it, I thank you! If you are like me, after a hard day the last thing I want to do is to spend hours in the kitchen. My Fried Rice recipe will see me only spending 20-30 mins or so in the kitchen. Yes, that’s right, this is why I like this recipe for fried rice I am sharing. Only a few ingredients and minimal time provide a healthy and tasty meal in a short amount of time.
What is Fried Rice?
Fried Rice is a dish made from cooked rice (freshly boiled or left over from another meal) that is mixed with other ingredients such as vegetables, seafood, meat, eggs and a sauce. Put them altogether in a work or frying pan in hot oil and you end up with an easy and tasty meal or side dish.
Which Oil is Most Suitable for Stir-Frying Rice?
Oils used in hot woks and frying pans are those with a high smoking point such as peanut oil, vegetable oil and canola oil. For a neutral oil flavour I suggest using canola oil.
